Vertiv: Dual‑Tenancy Speculative Building Electrical Up‑Fit

Palmetto Engineering & Consulting (PEC) retrofitted an existing speculative building by installing a second electrical service and designing a dedicated power distribution system to split the space for two tenants. The work re‑fed all lighting circuits onto Vertiv’s new meter, sized and installed indoor/outdoor lighting, high‑voltage production outlets, office receptacles, motorized dock doors, and dock levelers, and coordinated with Prince Engineering to power HVAC units without interfering with ductwork. The result is a fully segregated, code‑compliant electrical infrastructure that allows each tenant to monitor and bill its own consumption, improves system reliability, and supports future expansion.

Tohono O'odham Utility Authority (TOUA): GIS Transformation & Dashboard Deployment

Palmetto Engineering & Consulting (PEC) partnered with the Tohono O'odham Utility Authority (TOUA) to modernize utility operations across 4,400 square miles of rural service area. By implementing ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and GNSS-enabled data collection, TOUA moved from paper-based records to fully digitalize asset management system—tripling data capture efficiency and enabling real-time decision-making. The new dashboard tools also improved communication between field crews and office staff, enhancing service reliability for more than 3,000 customers.

Farmers Telephone Cooperative (FTC) South Carolina: Building the Future of Rural Fiber

Since 2007, Palmetto Engineering & Consulting (PEC) has partnered with FTC South Carolina, one of the nation’s largest telecommunications cooperatives, delivering reliable fiber broadband solutions across their expansive service territory. Over the years, PEC has designed and managed more than 2,000 miles of fiber infrastructure for FTC—including nearly 1,913 miles since 2018 alone—while providing critical support in construction contracting, vendor vetting, and pre-construction services. With more than 20 field staff and additional engineering support from our Greenville office, PEC continues to serve as a trusted extension of FTC’s team, helping them expand their network and meet the growing demand for high-speed connectivity across rural South Carolina.

Northern Cheyenne Tribe Communications Corporation (NCCC) Central Office

The Northern Cheyenne Central Office & Tier‑4 Data Center Project designed by Palmetto Engineering & Consulting (PEC) will provide a state‑of‑the‑art telecommunications hub that meets the tribal nation’s growing broadband needs while ensuring unparalleled reliability and security. The new facility will house a 500‑square‑foot, fault‑tolerant data center built to Tier‑4 standards (99.995 % uptime), surrounded by dedicated operations, mechanical, and customer‑service spaces. Designed to withstand local weather extremes—fire, lightning, snow, and high winds—the building will also meet ADA requirements and include robust cybersecurity measures. Funded through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program, the project will construct and equip the central office with the necessary telecommunications hardware to expand high‑speed broadband access for current and future members of the Northern Cheyenne Nation.

Tennessee Valley Network: Future Ready Project — Ongoing

Palmetto Engineering and Consulting (PEC) partnered with Tennessee Valley Network (TVN) to bring world-class broadband to Dade County, GA. Over three years, our team engineered more than 60 miles, and counting, of new optical fiber, retired the last copper connections, modernized records with a fiber management system, and provided ongoing engineering support.
